redmi: Redmi K50 Ultra may feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset – Times of India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the K50 series in the country in March. The Redmi K50 series included two smartphones — the Redmi K50 and the Redmi K50 Pro. The Chinese smartphone maker is now set to expand its K50 lineup with a new Ultra variant which is under development, according to a report by GSMArena. Xiaomi is likely to unveil the Redmi K50 Ultra smartphone in the second half of the year — anytime between July to December.
This handset is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset. However, the company has not confirmed the details of this upcoming device. If the rumours are true, the upcoming device will become the most premium variant in the series. The Redmi K50 Ultra will also be the first phone in the lineup to come powered by a Qualcomm processor for the base model. The Pro variant features MediaTek chipsets.
Redmi K50 Ultra: Expected specifications
The Redmi K50 Ultra is expected to sport an OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, DC dimming and Dolby Vision support. The display is also supposed to come with a single punch hole to house the front camera. As discussed earlier, the device is likely to come powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor. The upcoming handset might pack a 5000mAh battery unit with 120W fast charging support.
