Mishaal Rahman, editor of XDA Developers, took to Twitter to reveal some likely specifications of the JioPhone Next. This 4G-enabled device is likely to be the most affordable Android smartphone in India which will launch on September 10. Reliance JioPhone Next aims to be the low-cost 4G-enabled Android mobile option for those who can’t afford smartphones in India and are still stuck with 2G feature phones. In India, there are around 300 million 2G feature phone users. Here’s what to expect in terms of specifications from the JioPhone Next.

The JioPhone Next will be powered by Google’s Android Go operating system based on Android 11. Android Go platform is primarily meant for low-end devices which comes with basic hardware configuration.

With Android Go, users will get basic Android phone experience. While they will get access to Google’s services, software updates, Google Assistant and ability to download apps from Google Play store, note that access to all apps will not be there.
