Taiwanese technology company Asus has confirmed the launch date of its next gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 6. The company will launch the phone globally on July 5. The ROG Phone 6 series global launch event will be held in Taiwan. It will be a virtual launch event and will be live-streamed online. You can tune in to the launch at 8PM Taipei Time (UTC +8) which is 5.30 PM IST.
The ROG Phone 6 would be one of the world’s first gaming smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship SoC. Just like with the ROG Phone 5, the ROG Phone 6 is also expected to come in three variants–the standard ROG Phone 6, ROG Phone 6 Pro and ROG Phone 6 Ultimate– with all three being powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is said to have 10% better CPU and GPU performance both when compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.. It is also said to be 30% more power efficient, which means we can hope for less battery drainage and so an improved battery life.
Besides the ROG Phone 6 series, the company also has plans to unveil several new gaming accessories and a new gaming headphone on June 7.
