Samsung begins mass production for Galaxy Fold 3, Galaxy Flip 3 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics giant Samsung is expected to launch its next generation foldable smartphones and smartwatches in August. Various online rumours suggest that Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Watch 4 series at its next Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled to take place in August.
Now, a new online report from FrontPage Tech and tipster Jon Prosser reveal that the company has already started mass production of the new foldable smartphones. As per the report, Samsung is manufacturing 50,000 to 70,000 units of foldable smartphones each day.
The report also claims that Samsung is looking to manufacture a total of 7 million units of the two foldable smartphones. The company is expected to launch the smartphones on August 3 and the open sales are said to begin on August 27.
Another tipster, Roland Quandt, has also confirmed the same information. Quandt adds that Samsung has also started manufacturing the Galaxy Watch 4 series and Buds Pro 2 earphones.
Meanwhile, another online report by Korean publication The Dailyan suggests that Samsung has already started sending the first units of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to local telecom carriers like SK Telecom, KT Corporation and LG Uplus. The telecoms are reportedly testing the new devices on their respective networks.
Dailyan report also adds that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to cost KRW 1.9 million (Rs 1,24,391), while the Galaxy Flip 3 is said to cost KRW 1.3 million (Rs 85,102).
