Samsung confirms the launch date of its biggest event of the year: What to expect – Times of India
After much speculation, Samsung has confirmed the date of its Galaxy Unpacked event. The South Korean tech giant will be unveiling its new range of products on August 11 via an online-only event.
Calling it the next chapter in mobile innovations, Samsung said that it will be streaming the event live via YouTube at 7:30 pm (10 am ET).
The small teaser video shared by the company in the form of invite appears to be representative of foldable phones, which should be a highlight of the event.
While the company has remained tight-lipped about the devices that are lined up to be launched, various speculations have been made giving a broad idea of what all is expected to be launched.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021: Everything expected to be launched
According to a recent series of leaks by tipster Evan Blass, Samsung will launch three smartphones — Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable phone and Galaxy S21 FE smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event. Besides this, the company will launch two models of smartwatches — Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and Galaxy Watch Active 4, says Blass. These devices are said to be accompanied with TWS earbuds — Galaxy Buds 2.
Samsung Galaxy foldable phones
Both Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Flip 3 are rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship processor of the year — Snapdragon 888 SoC and therefore offer 5G support.
The two are said to run on Android 11 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of One UI.
While the Galaxy Fold 3 is said to come with two Super AMOLED displays which will include 6.23-inch cover display and 7.55-inch internal display, the Galaxy Flip 3 is touted to house a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display and a 6.7-inch foldable display.
