Samsung Galaxy A12 receives a price drop in India

NEW DELHI: Samsung is expected to launch the new Galaxy A13 5G smartphone in India soon. The company is said to launch the smartphone in February in the country. Ahead of this new launch, Samsung has reduced the price of Samsung Galaxy A12, which was launched last year in India. The smartphone has witnessed a price drop of Rs 1,000. Samsung Galaxy A12 sports a 48MP quad-rear camera setup and is backed by a 5000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A12 comes in two variants — 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB which can be purchased at Rs 12,999 and Rs 15,499 respectively. The smartphone can be purchased in black, blue and white colour options.

At this price point, the Samsung Galaxy A12 will compete against the Realme 8i which comes with a starting price tag of Rs 13,999. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio G96 chipset and is backed by a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 50MP triple camera setup and in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720×1560 pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The handset comes in two storage options — 64GB/128GB internal storage. Users can further expand the storage up to 1TB by adding a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 runs Android 10 operating system topped with the company’s own One UI. The dual SIM smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the camera, the Samsung Galaxy A12 sports a quad-rear camera setup which comprises a 48MP main sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 5MP ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front is home to an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

The handset is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W adaptive fast charging support.
