Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone in India. The smartphone was unveiled at the Samsung Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event recently. The device is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A52 that is one of the top-selling Samsung smartphones globally. We got a chance to use the new Samsung Galaxy A53 5G for sometime and here’s our first impression.

The Samsung Galaxy A 53 5G is quite lightweight and easy to hold. The plastic used on the smartphone looks premium. The blue colour option that we got for the review has a distinct look, especially with the matte finish. The smartphone is sturdy and the curved edges make it comfortable to carry around. The camera module now blends batter with the rear panel. It also misses out on the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display on the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is suitable to use in various lighting conditions. The display offers a vibrant output with crisp details. Although we were hoping the device to have thinner bezels, it had a minimal impact on the overall viewing experience.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is one of the first mid-range smartphones in the country that runs on Android 12 out of the box. The device comes with OneUI 4.1 operating system based on Android 12. The user interface is quite smooth and responsive. The smartphone works is easy to use as a daily driver and each feature is quite accessible without any hassle.

We played a couple of games on the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and we barely noticed any lag. The Exynos 1280 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM delivered steady performance so far. The Game Booster on the device does have a positive impact. The audio output certainly adds to the overall gaming experience.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G can easily last more than a day with mixed usage that includes light gaming, video streaming, social media and video calls. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. We were able to charge the device fully in around 80 minutes. It is worth noting that Samsung is not providing a charging brick with this smartphone.
