Samsung Galaxy Home Mini 2 smart speaker may launch soon, tipster claims – Times of India
Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Home Mini 2 smart speaker. According to a tweet by tipster Max Jumbor, the ‘Galaxy Home Mini 2 (SM-V320) isn’t too far away anymore’, hinting that the device may launch soon.
The South Korean company currently has two devices in its smart speaker lineup. These include the Galaxy Home, and the Galaxy Home Mini. The original Samsung Galaxy Home smart speaker was announced in 2018. The speaker was only available in the company’s home country and was never launched in other global markets. Its smaller sibling – the Galaxy Home Mini was also limited to South Korea only.
A device carrying a similar model number has previously been reported by Sammobile. The report then could give no information about the design and the shape of the Galaxy Home Mini 2. But it said that the smart speaker may come with a display, making it more of a smart display than just a smart speaker.
The tipster could not provide a launch date or timeline of the Samsung Galaxy Home Mini 2 smart speaker. It is likely that the device may be announced at the Galaxy S22 series event which is said to be held on February 8. The series may consist of Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The smartphones are said to be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or the Exynos 2200 SoC depending on the market. The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with support for 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra wide angle camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphones are rumoured to sport a 10MP camera at the front as seen on Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21+. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have 108MP + 12MP + 10MP triple camera setup at the back.
