Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will reportedly come with 45W fast charging support

Samsung is expected to announce the next-generation Galaxy S series flagship smartphones on February 9. Ahead of the official launch, the rumour mill has been abuzz with the leaks and image renders of the upcoming Galaxy S22 series lineup.

However, there have been multiple speculations regarding the charging speeds of the upcoming smartphones. Some reports suggest that Samsung will stick with the 25W fast charging with the Galaxy S22 lineup, while some suggest that the higher models will feature a faster 45W fast charging support.

According to a report by GSMArena, the Galaxy S22 will be available only with 25W charging speed irrespective of the region. However, the Galaxy S22+ and the Ultra will support 45W fast charging in select regions.

The report does not exactly specify which region will get the 45W Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Chinese 3C certification site reported 25W charging speed on all the three variants of the Galaxy S22 lineup.

But, according to Denmark’s DEMKO report, the Galaxy S22+ and Ultra will get the 45W fast charging.

Speculating both the reports, it is very likely that the Asian version which is expected to be powered by Exynos 2200 chipset of the Galaxy 22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will only get the 25W fast charging support, while the global version will feature 45W fast charging support.

As of now, there’s no confirmation from Samsung or no solid leak has surfaced justifying the reports and whether Samsung is actually looking forward to offering different charging speeds in the upcoming flagship smartphone depending upon the region.

It is to remind that they are just speculation based on the reports and advisable to take it with a pinch of salt. We will get to know the exact charging specifications once Samsung officially announces the phones.

For those unaware, Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S22 lineup alongside the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets next month. As per the reports, the Galaxy S22 series smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or recently announced Exynos 2200 chip depending upon the region.

Also, the vanilla Galaxy S22 is speculated to be backed by a 3700mAh battery, the Galaxy S22+ will come with a 4500mAh battery and the Ultra will be equipped with a slightly bigger 5000mAh battery.
