Samsung Galaxy S22 series will support up to 45W fast-charging speeds, reveals certification site

Samsung Galaxy S22 series to feature faster charging speeds

The new Samsung Galaxy S22 series will consist of more than one device, as we have come to expect. And according to the listing on the DEMKO certification website, the upcoming smartphones will benefit from faster-charging speeds. The Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will get faster 45W fast charging support as compared to 25W fast charging seen on the Galaxy S21 series.

The SM-S901E, SM-S901E/DS, and SM-S9010 model numbers are speculated to belong to the Samsung Galaxy S22 model and will support 25W fast charging support, which is the same as last year’s Galaxy S21 line.

The higher-specced Galaxy S22+ — with SM-S906E, SM-S906E/DS, and SM-S9060 model numbers — is rated to utilise a faster 45W charging speed. Lastly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which will use SM-908E, SM-S908E/DS, and SM-S9080 model numbers, will also benefit from the new 45W fast charging system.

The faster-charging speeds will surely help the devices charge up quicker and post an overall decent charging time as all the devices play to host substantial batteries. The Galaxy S22 gets a 3,700mAh battery, the Galaxy S22+ gets a 4,500mAh battery and lastly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra gets a 5,000mAh battery.

Despite the relatively faster charging speeds, Samsung Galaxy S22 series will lag far behind Xiaomi and iQOO’s 120W charging capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup will boast top-notch hardware. Depending on the market, the lineup will be powered either by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm or the new Exynos 2200 SoC developed in-house by Samsung.

Apart from the battery capacities and charging speeds, a distinction can be drawn amongst the S22 devices based on the size of the display and resolution. The triplets, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, will be boasting of AMOLED display with 6.1-inch FHD+, 6.6-inch QHD+, and 6.8-inch QHD+ screen sizes and resolutions, respectively.
