Samsung Galaxy S23 series battery capacities revealed once again

Ahmed Qwaider (@AhmedQwaider888 on Twitter) has the latest battery specs of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series on the table, confirming a 3,900mAh battery for the Galaxy S23, 4,700mAh one for the Galaxy S23 Plus version, and a 5,000mAh battery to top it all of on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. With each and every year, the margin between the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra battery capacities’ seems to shrink even further, and the S23 series will mark the narrowest spread between the two battery cells. Moreover, it will mark the fourth year in a row where Samsung has been using a 5,000mAh battery on its flagship phone. 

In terms of charging, the most compact Galaxy S23 comes with a 25W charging solution, a bit slow by today’s standards, whereas the Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra will both share fast 45W charging. Now, judging from the rest of the industry, it might seem that Samsung is lagging a bit, given how quickly some Galaxy competitors from China charge (some even in less than twenty minutes).

Paired with an overclocked version of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in all regions around the world, the Galaxy S23 series holds the promise to be among the best-performing Android flagship in early 2023. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is also anticipated to include a 200MP primary camera with an unique Samsung ISOCELL sensor, as well as a big, 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and allegedly record-setting maximum brightness of more than 2,000 nits. All Galaxy S23 Ultra versions will have 12GB RAM, and the super-premium phone will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants. 

All of this is expected to start at $1,199, which is the same price as the Galaxy S22 Ultra last year. The Galaxy S23 series will premiere on February 1, with a global market release supposedly taking place February 17.
