Samsung Galaxy S23 series finally has a launch window

TL;DR

  • A Korean publication has leaked the launch window of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.
  • Samsung could reportedly announce the flagships in the first week of February and put them up for sale by February 17.

Samsung is reportedly moving up the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. It’s not a dramatic preponement, though. According to a report by the Korean publication Chosun, Samsung is planning to release the flagships in the first week of 2023.

This year, Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 series on February 9 and eventually released the phones on February 25. That means the Galaxy S23 models are only getting announced a few days earlier than their predecessors.

This isn’t the fastest Samsung has released new Galaxy S flagships. The Galaxy S21 series holds that record for launching in January last year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s also not the first time we’ve heard about Samsung fast-tracking the Galaxy S23 launch. Another Korean outlet claimed as much in September. However, we didn’t know the exact launch window at the time.

Chosun reports that the contracting global smartphone market influenced Samsung’s decision to move up the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. The company is expected to hold an Unpacked event in San Francisco early February to unveil the devices.
