Samsung Galaxy S23 series has been confirmed to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC | Digit

Leaked images have revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 will be featured in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. In November, Qualcomm confirmed the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 in the Samsung Galaxy S23 but it will not be just another processor but a customised chipset exclusively for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. They named this chipset the ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy’.

The leak showed a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 picture exclusively for Galaxy. It also showed a picture of the racing game ‘Wreckfest’ to promote the gaming performance of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

Snapdragon 8 Gen2 specs and features

Talking about the Snapdragon 8 Gen2, the renders have suggested that this special chipset is the overclocked version of the vanilla Snapdragon 8 Gen2. It comes with a prime CPU core clocked at 3.36GHz and the Adreno 740 GPU clocked at 719MHz which is slightly more powerful than the normal one.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is just a day and is set to launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event. We expect to know more about the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 for Galaxy after the launch.

Rumors have also been floating around that Samsung is making this customised chipset and not TSMC and in that case, it will be an exclusive chipset for the Galaxy S23 series. The Qualcomm-Samsung deal is expected to extend to next year and we might see the customised Snapdragon chipset for the Samsung Galaxy S24 as well.
