Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Tab S7+ start receiving Galaxy Z Fold 4-like features with its latest update – Times of India

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 was the company’s first device to come pre-installed with Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1. Soon after its launch, the company rolled out the update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series and Z Fold 3. Now, SamMobile has reported that the Galaxy Tab S7 series is also receiving the same update in some regions.
According to the report, the One UI 4.1.1 update based on Android 12L is making its way to three years old Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ devices. The update for Galaxy Tab S7 comes with firmware version T870XXU2CVH3, while the Tab S7+ is receiving the update with firmware version T970XXU2CVH3.
Currently, the update is being rolled out in South Korea and France and it is expected that the company will soon expand the update to more countries in the coming days.
What’s new with the update
The update brings Android 12L–a tweaked version of Android 12 optimised for larger screens– to these tablets. Apart from that, the update also includes the August 2022 security patch along with several bug fixes and security improvements.
In terms of features, the One UI 4.1.1 update includes the new taskbar that we’ve seen on Galaxy Z Fold 4. This new taskbar will improve the multitasking capabilities of these devices and also allow users to use multi-window setup easily. Users can simply drag and drop an app from the taskbar to open it into a split screen and three-window layout.
Apart from that, the multitasking gestures that allow users to move forth and back between the apps have been added too.
In addition to these, the update also brings some new functionalities to the first-party apps. For instance, the My Files app can now search within the files and folders. The keyboard app has also been updated with better emojis, stickers, etc.
