Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 specifications, renders leaked
Ahead of next week’s Samsung Unpacked 2022 event, some images that closely resemble the official marketing material have been leaked. The leak comes from the Substack newsletter of seasoned leaker Evan Blass and divulges some specific design features and specifications of the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets. The lineup will consist of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The models will vary majorly on display size and technology, RAM and storage options, and battery capacities.
According to the marketing material, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 will get a 120Hz 11-inch WQXGA (2,560×1,600 pixels) LCD TFT display, the Plus model boosts this to a 12.4-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display with 2,800×1,752 pixels resolution. The biggest display is reserved for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which ships with a 120Hz 14.6-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display with 2,960×1,848 pixels resolution. The S Pen stylus will be supported by all three tablets.
Powering the three devices is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform which will be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The leaked images also indicate a possibility of the tablets getting an option for expandable storage.
In terms of the battery capacities the Galaxy Tab S8, Plus, and Ultra will get 8,000mAh, 10,090mAh, and 11,200mAh battery capacities, respectively. Luckily, these huge battery packs will support 45W fast charging, which can come in handy for some quick charges. However, it is unlikely that the devices would be bundled with a charger, a Type C to Type C cable is expected to be packed inside the box.
