Samsung Galaxy Unpacked official date, event time, and tagline confirmed; teaser leaked

Over the past decade, Samsung has earmarked August to unveil its Galaxy Note line of smartphones. While the Galaxy Note 21 launch is effectively cancelled, Samsung still has a lot in store for us. We’ll get to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch Active 4 in action, for the first time. Reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal, in partnership with MySmartPrice, has stumbled upon some interesting information about the Galaxy Unpacked event. The publication is set for August 11th at 19:30pm IST/ 14:00pm GMT/ 10:00am EST. A teaser for the event (attached below) shows what appears to be a foldable device unravelling itself. At this point, it is fairly obvious what it means. And in case there were any doubts, Agarwal says the tagline will be “Get Ready to Unfold”.

There is one highly anticipated device that’s missing from the Galaxy Unpacked event, though — Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Its launch got pushed back indefinitely due to the global semiconductor shortage. Qualcomm has had trouble keeping up with Snapdragon 888 orders, and that situation isn’t getting better until later this year.

Rumour has it that Samsung will also unveil (or at least demonstrate) a new Exynos chipset at Galaxy Unpacked. Several rumours from earlier this year told that Samsung planned to showcase its first-ever chipset with an AMD Radeon GPU sometime in H2 2021.

Samsung is also expected to unveil some new Galaxybook laptops and Galaxy Buds TWS earbuds at the event. Although not nearly as flashy as the foldable, these devices are integral to the Samsung ecosystem. We could see some new tablets in action, too, but the rumour mill has been largely silent about it so far.
