Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may not include this feature – Times of India
Last month, it was reported that Samsung is working on incorporating a thermometer in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series. The report also added that the feature will help in the early detection of Covid-19 and will also help in keeping track of the ovulation cycles. However, now a report has surfaced online revealing that the company might not be able to add this feature to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 5.

According to popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo, Samsung is facing challenges in including a thermometer in the Galaxy Watch 5. Kuo said, “The challenge in implementing precise body temperature measurement is that skin temperature quickly varies depending on outside environments. A smartwatch can’t support core temperature measurement in terms of hardware, so it needs an excellent algorithm to work together.”
“Samsung is facing this challenge as well. Unlike previous media reports, I think Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 in 2H22 might not support the body temperature measurement due to algorithm limitations”, added Kuo.
Apple was expected to include the same feature in the last year’s launched Apple Watch Series 7, but the company had to push back its plans due to issues with the reading algorithms.
This means that users will not be able to see and experience the thermometer feature in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5.
