Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 rugged smartphone with removable battery launched – Times of India
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 is now official. Samsung has launched its rugged smartphone in Europe. Successor to the XCover 5 the smartphone is designed to be used in harsh working conditions. It sports a durable design and replaceable battery.
The smartphone comes with military-grade certification which makes the smartphone shock-resistant and enables it to withstand drops. It comes with an IP68 rating which makes the smartphone water-resistant and it also comes with the ‘Glove Touch’ feature, allowing users to operate the smartphone with gloves.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 is protected by Samsung’s Knox security. The company has also promised to offer five years of security and four years of software updates to the smartphone.
The smartphone comes with a price tag of 629 euros (Rs 51,985) and it will be available in select markets starting July 2022.
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 specifications
Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on top.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 packs 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded further by adding a microSD card.
The smartphone runs Android 12 operating system topped with the company’s own layer of One UI 4.1. Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 comes with dual SIM support and is also Samsung Knox protected.
The rugged smartphone sports a dual rear camera which comprises a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Front is home to a 13MP selfie shooter. Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 is backed by a 4050 mAh removable battery.
