Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Design
The design of the Z Flip 3 did leak, so if you’ve been watching the leaks, you already know how the clamshell foldable will look. It brings several improvements in the design over its predecessor, the most notable one being the water resistance rating of IPX8.
The cover display of the clamshell foldable has also been upgraded, growing slightly from 1.1-inch to the more usable 1.9-inch. Overall, the foldable has gotten slimmer from its predecessor, but it’s still as heavy as the Z Fold 2 – 183g.
In terms of the Z Flip 3’s durability – Samsung has brought some improvements here as well. For example, the frame is the strong Armor Aluminum frame, and the glass is the tough Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Another thing that’s exciting about the Z Flip 3’s design is the multitude of colors the phone is available in. It comes in Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black, and you can get three additional color options from Samsung.com: Gray, White, and Pink. This shows a tremendous improvement over last years’ only three available colors.
On the back of the phone, we have the dual-camera system next to the 1.9-inch cover display.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Display
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 retains the 6.7-inch AMOLED display from its predecessor, upgrading its refresh rate from 60Hz to smooth 120Hz, and adaptive that is. It should provide a crisp and clear viewing experience with its 425ppi pixel density.
The cover display has also been upgraded from a 1.1-inch one to a more useful 1.9-inch, that you can view notifications, reply to messages, and check the time on.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Camera
The camera of the Z Flip 3 is your standard dual camera with a main 12MP wide-angle camera with OIS and Dual Pixel Autofocus, and a 12MP ultra-wide. On the front, it has a 10MP selfie camera.
The cool thing about the Z Flip 3 is the fact, thanks to the Flex mode we have seen previously on the Z Flip 2, it can fold to use its lower half as a tripod or a camera stand. This makes taking selfies with this phone a piece of cake.
We expect photos to turn out good, although we doubt it would be S21 Ultra-level of photo quality. We’ll make sure to inform you when our Z Flip 3 review is out, so you can check out the photo quality yourself.

In terms of memory, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is equipped with 8GB of RAM, and fast UFS 3.1 storage in two variants: either 128GB or 256GB.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Battery life
The battery cell powering the Z Flip 3 is a 3,300mAh cell, pretty much the same as the one seen on the Z Flip 2. This means it won’t deliver a crazy-good battery life, but with the efficiency of the Snapdragon 888, the results won’t be bad either, at least based on experience.
Rumors were vague about what to expect in terms of charging speeds for the Z Flip 3. Once we have the official information and confirmation, we’ll update this article.
