Samsung: How a user increased battery capacity of his Samsung Galaxy A32 to 30,000mAh – Times of India

Smartphone battery capacities have certainly improved over the years, and so has the time to charge them. However, it seems that some users want a lot more. A Reddit user going by the name u/Downtown_Cranberry44 expanded the battery capacity of his Samsung Galaxy A32 5G smartphone by as much as six times than its usual capacity. Samsung Galaxy A32 comes with a 5000 mAh battery and the user increased it to 30,000 mAh.
For reference, no modern-day smartphone comes with a battery capacity even near this. The maximum battery capacity smartphone that you can get in India is 7,000 mAh. And here Samsung has the best track record so far, as the company has the most number of smartphones offering battery capacity above 5,000 mAh.

How the user expanded battery to 30,000 mAh
Adding all that extra capacity came from using Samsung 50e battery cells, as per the user. “I replaced the internal battery of my Samsung Galaxy A32 5G with (6) Samsung 50E cells wired in parallel to make one 30,000 milliamp battery!” u/Downtown_Cranberry44 posted on Reddit. In the settings, the phone still shows the original capacity on Samsung A32 5G.
How the modded phone looks
While the user has increased the battery capacity of the phone, it doesn’t look that appealing. The modded phone weighs in roughly a pound (half KG) and certainly looks chunky from the photos shared by the user. “The phone weighs a total of 1 pound with each battery weighing 69 grams and the phone weighing 205 grams,” he wrote in the post.

The 30,000 mAh phone’s battery takes roughly 7 hours to get fully charged. The user further claims that he can “charge other devices with the two USB-A ports and USB-C port with fast charging. I can charge the phone itself with USB-C, Apple lightning, and MicroUSB with Fast Charging.” He, however, also shared that post the modding the phone reports the percentage as 1% for “some reason”.
