Samsung may have a ‘OnePlus problem’ while launching Galaxy Z Fold 3
To make things more exciting, OnePlus said that it will talk more about this surprise tweet showcasing a foldable phone at the exact same time when Samsung’s event starts– 10AM ET or 7.30PM IST.

There are no leak reports or rumours around OnePlus launching any foldable phone right now. In fact, it is too early to guess what OnePlus is exactly up to given that very little information is out there. Going by the video posted by OnePlus, the phone cannot be called a foldable phone in its true sense as there’s a broad hinge that’s visible in the centre. It appears more like two displays attached together by a hinge mechanism in the middle and the screen seems to be made of regular glass. The device looks very similar to the LG G8X ThinQ that came with dual displays.
As far as Samsung’s foldable phones are concerned, Samsung is actually using a flexible display which is claimed to be made of ultra-thin glass. Also, the entire display unfolds to expand as one big screen and not two separate displays.
The Z Fold 3 unfolds horizontally, essentially converting your phone into a nearly 8-inch tablet. Reports claim that Samsung is adding S-Pen stylus support to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The design and form factor is expected to be similar to the older Fold devices and it will come with a total of five cameras– three at the back, one on the main display and one on the cover display. It will be powered by a new chipset and there will be support for 5G.
While all-eyes will be on Samsung to see as to how the company is able to offer S-Pen stylus support on an otherwise fragile flexible display, OnePlus’ bold publicity move will definitely be tested.
