Samsung may postpone the open sale for the upcoming Galaxy S22 series

NEW DELHI: Samsung has already confirmed that it will launch its next-generation flagship smartphone series on February 9. The company has scheduled its next Galaxy Unpacked event for February 9, where it will launch the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone series. The smartphone maker is said to launch three smartphones under the series — Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Now, a new rumour has surfaced online revealing that the company is facing some supply-side issues and it may push back the first sale dates of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

According to tipster Jon Prosser, Samsung is facing some supply chain issues for the yet-to-launch Galaxy S22 lineup. As a result of this, the company might have to push the open sale dates of the smartphones. The company is said to begin the pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series after the launch event on February 9. However, the smartphone maker is said to postpone the official sale dates. As per the tipster, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to go on sale from February 25, while the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are expected to go on sale starting March 11.

The company has not yet talked about any such issue and we will have to wait for February 9 in order to know the exact sale dates.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series likely specifications
As per reports, the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone will feature a 6.06-inch dynamic AMOLED display. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a 6.2-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is expected to have a 6.5-inch dynamic AMOLED display and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to sport LTPO Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. The display of smartphones is likely to have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S22 series will be reportedly powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or the Exynos 2200 SoC depending on the market.

The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are reported to feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with support for 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies and video calls, the smartphones may sport a 10MP camera at the front as seen on Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21+. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have a 108MP + 12MP + 10MP triple camera setup at the back and a 32MP selfie shooter at the front.
