Samsung reportedly testing One UI 5.1 for Galaxy Z Fold4 – Times of India

Samsung is expected to unwrap its next-generation of Galaxy S series flagship smartphones — Galaxy S23 series — in February this year. The upcoming smartphones are expected to bring improved performance, camera improvements and more. In addition to these, the handsets are also rumoured to come with One UI 5.1 out-of-the-box. SamMobile has reported that the company has already started testing the latest version of its custom user interface with Galaxy Z Fold4.
According to the report, Samsung has started testing it internally and One UI 5.1 contains firmware version F936NKSU1CVLH. Now, this isn’t the first time One UI 5.1 is being tested on Samsung Galaxy devices. Last week, reports revealed that Samsung has started testing One UI 5.1 for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The upcoming Galaxy S phones are expected to arrive with One UI 5.1 out of the box. However, as per the report, the Galaxy S22 lineup will receive the update a couple of weeks after the Galaxy S23 announcements.
Now, it isn’t clear what One UI 5.1 will bring to the table. It is expected to carry forward the same design as the One UI 5, after all, it is an extension of the version and not an entirely new update. However, it is expected that it will bring some new lock screen customisation options, new widgets, etc.
Samsung Galaxy S23 series: Expected features
As far as Samsung Galaxy S23 series is concerned, Samsung is expected to announce them on February 1, 2023. The smartphones — Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ — are likely to get a new design with standalone camera modules similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. While Galaxy S23 Ultra is also expected to feature a new flat design compared to Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Reports have also confirmed that the handsets will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will offer better heat management than its predecessor.
