Samsung rolls out Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta for Galaxy S22 users
Earlier this month Samsung opened its OneUI 5 Beta program for Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphone users. The company recently announced the same for Galaxy S22 users in India. Now Samsung has opened the public beta for One UI 5 for the Galaxy S21 series smartphones. Presently available in Korea and the UK, the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users can get a taste of Android 13 on their smartphones.
In order to join the beta program, Samsung users will have to register via the Samsung Members app. The beta version comes with build number G99xBXXU5ZVHE. Samsung is expected to roll out the stable version of Android 13 for Galaxy S22 smartphones by mid-October this year.
Here’s what the new Samsung One UI 5.0 will offer:
Customised look and feel
With One UI 5.0 users will be able to customise their smartphone experience, including an expanded set of colour options for a more tailored look. The new UI allows users to get up to 16 preset colour themes based on their wallpaper and 12 more colour options for their home screens, icons and quick panels for a look and feel suited to their style. Along with this, users can also customise their home screens by stacking widgets of the same size in a single location.
Improved language and sound settings
Samsung has tried to streamline the process to change the sound and vibration settings with One UI 5.0. The new UI offers reorganised menus that provide easy access to all ringtone volumes and vibration intensities. For the first time, Galaxy users can also tailor their preferred language for their different apps.
Additional new features
The update brings several other new features for a better user experience. Users can more seamlessly capture high-quality photos and video with a new icon in Pro and Pro Video mode that offers useful tips and tricks on how to use the various lenses, features and controls. Plus, a more responsive zoom bar means quicker close-ups and makes it easier to zero in on the subject using only one hand.
With One UI 5, a new dashboard lets users view the security status of their phone, shows whether there are security issues and recommends ways to fix them.
