Samsung rolls out November 2022 security update to Galaxy A71 5G – Times of India

Samsung rolled out the OneUI 5.0 update based on Android 13 OS to the Galaxy A71 5G. After two weeks, the smartphone has now started receiving the November 2022 security patch. Earlier this year, the A71 handset was updated to the OneUI 4.0 update based on Android 12.
According to a report by Sammobile, the update comes bearing the firmware version A715FXXU8DVK5 and fixes approximately four dozen security vulnerabilities. The update has been rolled out for the Galaxy A71 users located in India and Sri Lanka. However, the update arrived a month later than the ideal time. The November 2022 security patch is likely to include general bug fixes and stability improvements.

Here’s how users can check whether their device has received the update or not:
1. Open the Settings app
2. Scroll down and click on Software Update
3. Tap Download and Install

Samsung Galaxy A71 5G flaunts a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display featuring a super AMOLED screen. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. The storage is further expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card.
The 5G-enabled smartphone houses a quad camera setup comprising a 64MP primary sensor, 12MP secondary sensor, 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro sensor. There’s a 32MP sensor on the front for selfies. The device is capable of shooting UHD 4K videos with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution at 60fps.

Sensors onboard are accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, hall sensor, RGB light sensor, and proximity sensor.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 smartphone in 2019 with Android 10 onboard. The device received three Android updates–Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13. Now, the Galaxy A71 will receive security updates twice a year.
