samsung: Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 gets updated with this new audio feature – Times of India

Samsung has added a Galaxy Buds Pro feature to the Galaxy Buds 2 earbuds with a new update. According to XDA Developers, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is getting a software update that will add 360-degree audio to the earbuds that were released in August 2021. The update has a 3MB size that also includes call quality improvements and Bluetooth connections. The South Korean tech giant introduced this feature with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro which was also released last year to compete with AirPods Pro.
Samsung’s 360 Audio is different from Spatial Audio on Apple devices. Spatial Audio is designed to be used with audio content built for 360 degrees, while Samsung’s tech works with audio coming from most apps. Samsung 360 Audio is supposed to shift the positioning of the stereo channels based on the user’s head movements.
There haven’t been a lot of software updates since Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 was released. Apart from a notable update that was released in 2021, where the earbuds supported the company’s Galaxy Buds app for Windows. This update allowed users to change all the settings and options from a Windows PC rather than just depending upon the Galaxy Wearable app on mobile devices.
The report adds that users who haven’t received the update yet can do get it from the Galaxy Wearable app. To get the update, you have to select ‘Earbuds settings’ and tap on ‘Earbuds software update’ near the bottom of the list. However, it is important to note that Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds Live devices from all over the world will get this software update, but users need a Samsung phone running One UI 3.1 or higher to actually be able to use the feature.
