Samsung is one company that takes Android updates quite seriously. The smartphone maker makes sure that not only high-end but mid-range and budget smartphones also receive the latest OS update. The South Korean smartphone maker has now started rolling out Android 12 update for its Galaxy M31s smartphone. Presently live in Russia, this is the second major OS update for the smartphone. Samsung launched the Galaxy M31s in 2020 with Android 10 out-of-the-box. Last year the smartphone received Android 11 update and now it is receiving Android 12 update.
The update comes with firmware version M317FXXU3DVD4. The update also brings along a security patch for the month of March and Samsung’s One UI interface to version 4.1. With Android 12 update, the Samsung Galaxy M31 is also getting One UI 4.1 update. With the One UI 4.0, users will get improved stock apps, Material You dynamic colour themes, lock screen widgets, dedicated quick settings toggles for switching off camera and microphone access and new widget designs. The update is also claimed to enhance the security and privacy of the devices.
Samsung Galaxy M31s specifications
Samsung Galaxy M31s comes with a 6.5-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 9611 processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy M31s packs 128GB internal stoarge which can be expanded up to 512GB by adding a microSD card.
The smartphone sports a quad-rear camera setup with a 64MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP depth sensor and 5MP macro shooter. There’s also a 32MP selfie camera.
The smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
