samsung: Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro may feature a sapphire glass display, thick bezels – Times of India
Samsung is planning to expand its smartwatch lineup with the new Galaxy Watch 5 Pro this year. However, the South Korean tech giant has not confirmed whether the upcoming Pro variant will replace the Classic model. According to a PhoneArena report, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is set to lead the series by being the flagship model as it will be made up of premium materials. However, this premium material will increase the price of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and will make it pretty expensive. Compared with its successor, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic which was deemed to be one of the best smartwatches of its time comes at a starting price of $350 (almost around Rs 27,000)

The report suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is expected to come with a titanium body and may feature a sapphire glass display. Sapphire is a high-end display material that is only used in premium smartwatches. Companies like Apple, Garmin and Huawei have all used sapphire displays in some of their premium products. Sapphire is an ideal material to use in smartwatches as it is very durable as well as scratch and crack resistant.
The report mentions that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro won’t have slim bezels as well. However, it is not clear if the upcoming smartwatch will be equipped with rotating bezels or not.
