Samsung: Samsung may revive FE series with Galaxy S23 lineup – Times of India
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: What to expect
As per the report, Samsung is expected to launch a new Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone in the second half of 2023. Earlier, rumours suggested that Samsung may discontinue the Fan Edition lineup. However, the latest report claims that the company is likely to announce the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and may not launch the Galaxy A74.
The report also claims that Samsung may ship the Galaxy S23 FE in more countries compared to the Galaxy S21 FE. The company launched its last FE edition smartphone only in some Asian countries, Europe, and the US.
The report doesn’t reveal many specs about the Galaxy S23 FE but claims that Samsung might not use the Exynos 2300 chipset for this smartphone. The company is likely to use either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or 2022’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset for the rumoured phone. Apart from the chipset, Samsung is also expected to improve the cameras with the Galaxy S23 FE.
Why Samsung may cancel the Galaxy A74 smartphone
Samsung has sold over 10 million units of the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone, the report adds. To compare, the sales figures for the Galaxy A73 phone were just 3 million units. The report claims that Samsung is ‘carefully’ planning its smartphone lineup to avoid ‘sales cannibalisation among Galaxy devices.’ The company is expected to skip the Galaxy A74 to improve sales of the Galaxy S23 FE, the report adds.
