Samsung Wallet coming to 13 more countries this year; India has to wait – Times of India

Samsung is set to expand the availability of its unified Wallet app to more regions later this year. The company has officially announced the expansion of its Wallet ao to around 13 more countries.
According to the report, Samsung will make its Wallet app available in Bahrain, Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam and UAE by the end of this year. Unfortunately, India is not on the list of countries where the Wallet app will arrive later this year.
Samsung launched its Wallet app in June 2022 and it started with six regions which include the US, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Also, for those who are unaware, Samsung Wallet is the company’s unified wallet app that brings together Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass into one app. Along with that it also brings additional features like the ability to store student IDs, driving licenses, boarding passes, etc.
According to the company, the Samsung Wallet platform is protected by the company’s own security platform — Samsung Knox. The app supports biometric authentication like Fingerprint and encryption to ensure users’ data safety and security.
Meanwhile, Samsung has announced the launch date of its latest Android custom user interface — One UI 5. The company has confirmed that it will start rolling out the One UI 5.0 update with the Android 13 operating system later this month. The complete rollout timeline hasn’t been revealed by the company, but it is expected that the flagship devices will receive it first and then the mid-range and entry-level devices will get the update.
