Samsung introduced its Wallet platform in 2022. Initially, the service was introduced in 6 countries – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. Later, it was expanded to more countries like — Bahrain, China, Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam and UAE.
Users can organise and access documents easily and securely using the Samsung Wallet service. These documents include identification and other necessary certificates bank cards and digital keys to travel passes, driver’s licenses and student IDs. Samsung Wallet allows users to access these documents with just one swipe.

Samsung’s security platform — Samsung Knox is responsible for the protection of the Samsung Wallet platform. The security features include fingerprint recognition and encryption. These features ensure that users’ important data remain protected.
The company claims that Samsung Wallet can store sensitive documents in an isolated environment. The platform offers an extra layer of protection against potential digital and physical hacking attempts as well.
Samsung’s EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Jeanie Han claimed that the company is committed to build the experience through open partnerships with Samsung and other service providers. This ensures access to the platform for “as many people as possible”.
Han also mentioned that over the past several months, Samsung has worked “to rapidly expand the availability of Samsung Wallet,” to bring the platform to more potential users. The company said that it is also looking forward to sharing new developments related to Samsung Wallet in the coming year.
