Samsung’s C-Lab incubator to show off smart guitar at CES 2022

Want to be the next Hendrix, Clapton, or Van Halen? Samsung, which is actually attending CES in person next month in Las Vegas (as opposed to other big tech names that are appearing virtually because of COVID), could be unveiling a smart guitar during its C-Lab presentation. Don’t fret (pun intended), we will get to this in a second. First, let’s get to the Galaxy S21 FE which Sammy might introduce at the convention. Smartphone fans have been eagerly awaiting the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition with its 6.4-inch AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate.
The 5G capable phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC with a 32MP punch-hole selfie snapper, and the camera array will include a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. One configuration features 6GB of memory with 128GB of storage and another includes 8GB of memory with 256GB of storage.

Design and apply temporary tattoos using the Prinker device and app

Keeping the Galaxy S21 FE alive will be a 4500mAh capacity battery; the phone will be impervious to dust and can be submerged in nearly five feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. This gives the device an IP rating of 68.

Prinker might grab plenty of attention at CES. It is the world’s first digital temporary tattoo device that allows users to design and apply water-resistant but soap-washable custom temporary tattoos in just one second. The tattoo is made of cosmetic products so nothing is permanent. Check out the process by viewing the Prinker official video that accompanies this story.

Now we can talk about becoming the next guitar hero. The company’s C-Lab incubator products for CES 2022 include a smart guitar and app called the ZamStar that makes it easier to learn the instrument and to share that new riff you came up with. Let’s say you’re noodling away on your six-string when this killer riff comes out of your brain. With the ZamStar app, you can add some effects to it and share it with others.

The next thing you know, you’ve created a riff that is more infectious than the Beatles’ Day Tripper. The guitar is designed for both beginners and advanced players. LED lights glow to show you the notes that you can play while soloing. In other words, who needs to memorize their scales anymore? And with the app, you and three of your bandmates can jam with as many as four instruments playing at the same time, including vocals.

Also being displayed at CES (which kicks off on January 4th in Las Vegas) is AI-based Piloto which teaches children good smartphone habits and helps them explore their digital worlds safely. Innovision is a “daily life eye-care system with a nursery mobile” that monitors infants who spend too long looking at screens and warns parents of any potential eye health issues.

DearBuds helps earbuds wearers refresh their ears by circulating 10L of air in just three minutes

Other C-Lab presentations are expected for CatchFlow which is an “Ultra-directional speaker that delivers targeted sound to specific areas,” and PurrSong which offers hardware and software healthcare solutions for the felines in your family. Small home appliance maker Blue Feel will be showing off its Total Air Care Monitor which provides data in real-time about the air such as the temperature, humidity, and more.

If you wear earbuds leaving your ears feeling hot and sticky, Linkface’s DearBuds is a solution that relieves the humidity in your ears by circulating 10L of air in just three minutes. This, the company says, will “get rid of the muggy feeling from prolonged earphone usage. Lastly, Evar provides electric vehicle charging solutions for your EV.

There are some other companies that will appear at CES 2022 under the C-Lab umbrella, but the above products might attract the most attention.
