Santander DOWN: Mobile app and online banking not working for thousands
If you’re trying and failing to access your Santander accounts online then you are not alone. The bank’s app and website appear to be offline this morning with thousands of customers complaining that they can’t access key services such as making payments or checking statements. The tech gremlins appear to have begun at around 7am with the issues still ongoing.
Independent website Downdetector, which monitors outages across the world, has received a surge of reports with many saying they are seeing a message that the server is not responding. The popular Android and iPhone app also appears to be having difficulties with users unable to see their accounts.
Speaking on Downdetector’s forum page, one Santander customer said “I keep getting server not responding too in mobile app yet it says mobile services are up.”
Whilst another vented their anger, saying: “Come on Santander sort it out. I need to pay my credit card today.”
Along with mentions on the Downdetector, users have also taken to social media to complain about the outage with one saying: “Good start to the day! Santander online all down.”
Another tweeted: “Yet again online banking is down, I’m aware with modern technology things go wrong but this is becoming a bit too common with Santander now. Are debit cards working OK before I go and make myself look a plonker in a shop!”
It’s unclear what is causing the issues with Santander’s status page currently showing that all services are working as normal.
