Schaeffler Group inaugurates new software technology centre in India – Times of India
Schaeffler’s employment plans in India
The newly formed entity Schaeffler Technology Solutions India Private Limited, which is a subsidiary of the Schaeffler Group will aim to employ 200 engineers in India by end of 2022. These new employees will be a part of Schaeffler’s E-Mobility business division. The move is a part of Schaeffler’s plans to make India the main location and competence centre for software and electronics development for the company. This is the primary reason for the company’s plans to ramp up the development team in the country during the next years.
What will Schaeffler focus on
Schaeffler’s new tech centre will mainly focus on developing software for e-mobility projects. The company already offers a wide range of solutions for electric drives and is now aiming for major growth in this area. From individual electromobility components to highly complex systems such as a 4in1 electric system, the company develops a variety of drive systems. The e-mobility business at Schaeffler totalled an order intake of 4.7 billion euros during the first nine months of 2022.
The engineers at the new technology centre in Pune will be contributing to this business in the areas of software development, electronics, mechatronics, and validation. These sectors are key to seamlessly blending electrical and mechanical components for overall system reliability and efficiency.
Schaeffler promises an optimal work environment for engineers
The company has been creating new offices with state-of-the-art software and an electronics laboratory for employees in Pune. The data centre is placed in a location which has a total size of nearly 5,000 square meters.
This will help create modern workplaces for professionals that include communication zones, meeting places, and special areas where they can work without distractions.
