SIM-related bug affecting iPhone 14 users: Here’s what Apple said – Times of India

Early users of the iPhone 14 series of smartphones reported issues regarding device activation and camera vibrations. Apple patched these issues with consecutive iOS 16 updates. Now, a new bug related to cellular data and SIM card support has reportedly been affecting iPhone 14 users. As per a report, Apple is aware and is working to resolve this issue soon with a new update.
The company is currently testing iOS 16.1 with developers and public beta testers and the patch for this new bug is expected to be included before it releases at the end of October.

iPhone 14 new bug: How is it affecting users
MacRumors reports that Apple has issued a memo acknowledging that some iPhone 14 users (including all four models: iPhone 14, Plus, Pro and Pro Max) may find a message saying: “SIM Not Supported” appearing on their devices. The company also mentions that some devices may even freeze entirely after showing the pop-up message.
Apple has reportedly confirmed that this is not a hardware problem and the issue is currently being investigated by the company. Moreover, the tech giant has also recommended users keep their software up to date.

Apple’s advice to its users
Meanwhile, during the ongoing investigation, if this message shows up for new customers, Apple has advised them to wait for a few minutes to check if the message has disappeared. In case the message doesn’t go away, Apple recommends that users should not attempt to restore the device. Instead, the company wants its users to visit their nearest Apple Store or authorised service provider where they can request technical assistance and get the issue resolved.
