skagen smartwatch: Skagen announces Falster Gen 6 smartwatch at Rs 21,995 – Times of India

Watch and jewellery brand Skagen has announced the latest generation in the wearables portfolio — the Falster Gen 6 Smartwatch — which will soon be launching for Android and iOS users globally. First announced in August 2021, the Gen 6 is the first smartwatch powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ Platform, which, as per Skagen, comes with performance upgrades like faster application load time, highly-responsive user experiences and more efficient power consumption.
Skagen will launch the Falster Gen 6 Smartwatch with five styles in a 42mm case size, including silver-tone, charcoal, and black case colours. The styles launch on straps made with the brand’s stainless steel mesh, silicone and leather, and are also compatible with all 20mm straps and bracelets for added customization. Each style will retail for Rs 21,995.
Skagen Flaster Gen 6 smartwatch: Features
The Skagen Flaster Gen 6 smartwatch comes in a stainless steel or nylon case and features a rotating home button and two configurable push buttons. It sports a 1.28-inch touchscreen digital display with 326 ppi. It is swim-proof (up to 3 ATM).
The smartwatch runs WearOS by Google. According to the company, the Gen 6 will also be compatible with Google’s new system update, Wear OS 3, announced in 2021. The smartwatch will be eligible for the Wear OS 3 system update in 2022, alongside other updates that will continue to improve the overall user experience.
The watch comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 LE, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC SE. The various sensors on the device are an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, PPG heart rate, SpO2, Off-body IR and an Ambient Light sensor.
As per Skagen, the Gen 6 smartwatch reaches 80% in only a little more than 30 minutes of charging. This, combined with the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform, decreased power consumption and Fossil Group-developed Smart Battery Modes, allows for 24+ hours of battery life (based on usage) or multiple days in Extended Battery Mode, claims the company.
Gen 6 users will have access to download new Wear OS apps and experiences on Google Play from their favourite brands. Both Android and iOS users can make and receive tethered calls from their Gen 6 smartwatch. They can also take the help of Google Assistant.
