snapchat: Snapchat introduces new AR lens with a ‘magic trick’ – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Photo-messaging app Snapchat has introduced a new AR lens for the new flat cut chip – Lays Wafer Style. Recently launched ‘Paper Thin, Wafer Thin’ chips now have a special interactive lens that Snapchatters can use. This new lens allows users to participate in a magic trick where they get to see themselves disappear in smoke.
“The young Indian audience today has an evolved palate and engages meaningfully with quirky, relatable and easily shareable content. With our first of its kind lens Snapchatters can watch themselves disappear- an ideal way to captivate imagination. We are confident that this new lens will resonate with Snapchatters across the country, leading to a successful launch for Lay’s Wafer Style,” the company said in a statement.

Recently, Snapchat introduced an AR lens for Kabaddi. Snapchat partnered with Star Sports in order to give a virtual experience of the game to its users with the help of its Kabaddi AR lens. The lens allows users to take part in virtual Raid by simply selecting the lens and saying “Le Panga”. The user will appear as a raider in the middle of an opponent’s court, surrounded by seven players and can begin play by physically tilting their head.
Last year, Snapchat introduced a new standalone video editing app called Story Studio. Designed for creators the editing app claims to make the vertical video-making process more engaging.
With this new app, Snapchat users can add effects like text, trending audio and AR lenses. The video created using the app can be directly uploaded to Spotlight which is a TikTok-styled video section. The videos can be downloaded and shared on other platforms.
