The Sony Alpha 7 1V (Body + 28-70 mm Zoom Lens) costs ₹262,490 and the HVL-F60RM2 flash is priced at ₹46,000.

Sony has added two new products to its imaging product portfolio. These are the interchangeable-lens camera Alpha 7 IV (model ILCE-7M4) with a new 33MP (approx., effective) full-frame image sensor and also a new HVL-F60RM2 flash. The company claims flagship-grade image processing from its Bionz XR engine and this CMOS sensor. It boasts 4K video recording facility with S-Cinetone color grading and 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling.

Here are the full details.

Sony Alpha 7 IV Specs and Features

The successor to Alpha 7 III is armed with many new-gen technologies such as the Bionz XR processor, 33MP res output, and “advanced autofocus capabilities” like AF Assist for focus transitions and visualizing depth of field. There is also a continuous shooting at 10fps, Real-time Eye AF for capturing human, animal, and bird movements in focus, and a Breathing Compensation feature that ensures focus during the breathing movements by the subject.

It brings the signature features like S-Cinetone for a cinematic look on top of 4K 60p films shot in Super 35mm mode or 4K 30p with 7K oversampling in full-frame mode. The result leverages the 10-bit color depth with 4:2:2 color sampling. You also get efficient codec support like XAVC S-I and XAVC HS.

Coming back again to that 33MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, it is rated for ISO 50-204800 sensitivity, and 15-stop dynamic range.

Being a hybrid model, you get benefits such as easy switching between various settings thanks to its dual-layer mode dial with Still/Movie/S&Q on the lower layer and Auto/P/A/S/M and MR (Memory Recall) on the top layer.

Along with the new camera and sensor, Sony has unveiled its HVL-F60RM2 Flash with the ability to continuously shoot flash up to 200 times at 10 frames per second.

Other goodies in the mix are 5-axis optical in-body image stabilization, a CFexpress Type A compatible media slot, a 3.68 million-dot (approx.) OLED Quad-VGA viewfinder, a heat-dissipating solution with magnesium alloy, remote sharing, and controls via its Imaging Edge Mobile app, and a new “Shot Mark” option to quickly access marked scenes in a video.
