spaces: Twitter is now allowing all users to host Spaces

NEW DELHI: Twitter launched its Clubhouse rival — Spaces last year. Twitter Spaces allow users to have real-time audio conversations. It also offers reaction emojis, the ability to share tweets and more.
Earlier this year, Twitter allowed users to host Spaces that have more than 600 followers. However, now the social networking giant is allowing all of its users to host a Space.
The Android and iOS users will now be able to host a Space despite having less than 600 followers. The Spaces team posted a tweet informing users about this new change.
The company tweeted, “the time has arrived — we’re now rolling out the ability for everyone on iOS and Android to host a Space if this is your first time hosting, welcome! here’s a refresher on how.”

Recently, Twitter rolled out a feature for Spaces which will tell the host if someone they follow is attending Spaces audio conversations. Earlier, Twitter showed Spaces in the timeline only when a contact is hosting Spaces. With the new feature, users are able to see when a person they follow has turned into Spaces.
The microblogging platform has also added a new ability for its users to control who can see their listening activities. This means that if a user does not wish to share which Spaces he/she may be attending with the follower, he can turn off the feature.
To do so, head to the “Settings and privacy” menu. Here, look for “Privacy and safety,” and navigate to Spaces. Then, turn off the option to “Let followers see which Spaces you’re listening to.”
Turning it off will hide your Spaces activity from your followers. But, people in the Space you are attending will still be able to see your presence in the chat room.
