Popular cab aggregator Ola has finally launched the most hyped electric scooters in India, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro. The former comes with a 2.98kWh battery, while the latter has a larger 3.97kWh battery. Both the models have a peak power of 8.5kW. The standard Ola Electic S1 is said to have a range of 121km and a top speed of 90kmph. It can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 3.6 seconds and gets two riding modes, namely Normal and Sports. The Ola S1 Pro has a 181kms range and a top speed of 115kmph and can reach up to 40kmph in just three seconds. The Pro variant gets three riding modes: Normal, Sports, and Hyper.

The Ola Electric S1 price in India is Rs 99,999, while the S1 Pro costs Rs 129,999. The electric scooters will be available for purchase from September 8th, with deliveries starting from October across 1,000 cities. Interested customers can reserve the Ola S1 and S1 Pro by paying Rs 499. The company is offering an EMI option as well, starting at Rs 2,999/ month. The electric scooters feature a ‘Battery Management System’ that monitors the battery for optimal durability, performance, range and safety. It automatically locks and unlocks, thanks to the paired phone that acts as a digital key is close by.

Ola S1

The Ola Electric scooters feature a 7-inch touchscreen display and have multiple microphones and AI speech recognition algorithms. They run on in-house MoveOS that is built by Ola Electic and the vehicle control unit (VCU) is powered by an octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and connectivity features include 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Ola is offering an option to customise scooter’s sound and there are four options at launch: Bolt, Care, Vintage, and Wonder. There’s also a voice command that allows the rider to do tasks without any physical contact with the touchscreen.

Now for the safety features, Ola Scooters ship with an anti-theft alert system, geo-fencing, and the battery is flame retardant in addition to being water and dust resistant. They come with 110/70 R12 tyres that have a rear mono-shock suspension and a front single fork suspension. Other notable features include reverse mode by turning the throttle in the opposite direction and front and rear disk brakes, and Hill-Hold (on the Pro).
