Spotify rolls out ‘Playlist in a Bottle’ feature: Here how it works – Times of India

Spotify has rolled out an interesting feature which will enhance the music listening experience of its users. The popular music streaming app has introduced a new feature called ‘Playlist in a Bottle’.
Spotify’s Playlist in a Bottle is an interactive in-app experience where fans are invited to create a musical time capsule to lock away until January 2024. As part of the experience, listeners will answer several questions about what they’re listening to – and those responses will get locked away in a musical time capsule, only to be opened a year later.
The company further states that in January 2024, users who have participated will be served their personalized Playlist in a Bottle, reminding them of who they were and what they were listening to at that moment a year ago.
Here’s how the new feature works:
– Visit spotify.com/playlistinabottle on your mobile device
– Select where you want to store your playlist – whether it’s an actual bottle, a tiny little pocket of your jeans, a gumball machine, a lunch box or a teddy bear.
– Next, users will be asked to answer a series of song-inspired prompts like “A song you’re going to kiss someone to this year,” “A song that reminds you of your favourite person,” and “A song you need to hear live in 2023.”
– Finally, users can “seal” their musical time capsule and #PlaylistInABottle card to social channels.
Recently, Spotify accused Apple of “anti-competitive behaviour” that is hurting “audiobook listeners, publishers and authors.” Reports suggest that the iPhone maker has rejected Spotify’s app update three times. Spotify says in a blog post that Apple continues to stand in the way of the company’s and “other developers’ abilities to provide a seamless user experience, and its restrictions hurt both creators and consumers alike.”
