According to the source, the leak posted on 4chan could be from the game’s ‘recent test build.’ Another tip suggests that, while the Suicide Squad game in development does have a battle pass, it will mainly involve skins and similar cosmetic upgrades. This means that developer Rocksteady Studios may not provide pay-to-win boosts as part of the battle pass.
Leaked Suicide Squad screenshot gives a glimpse of the game’s core features
As evident above, the leaked screengrab features multiple points of interest for fans anticipating the game. The menu at the top reveals the presence of a ‘Battle Pass’ section, confirming the namesake feature of the game. There also seems to be a ‘Store’ section where players could buy in-game upgrades. Also, the ‘Social’ section confirms the game will incorporate networking features. All in all, Suicide Squad is basically confirmed to be a live-service game.
Another interesting takeaway is that the image shows what looks like different types of in-game currency. The game may also offer different game modes, chapter selection, and an option to tweak the difficulty setting. Additionally, there’s a prominent ‘Matchmaking’ button which may house matchmaking preferences.
On each character, there are two numbers at the bottom which are likely to be upgrade levels, meaning players could potentially gain XP and improve their characters’ abilities. The ‘Looks’ and ‘Talents’ menu tabs in the image suggest each character will have a range of skins and power-ups to equip. Lastly, the timestamp near the top-right confirms the build in question is as recent as 16 January 2023.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release later this year
Originally announced for a 2022 release, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was delayed by Rocksteady Studios for ‘making the best game we can,’ as tweeted by co-founder Sefton Hill. The game will now hit the shelves on May 23, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
Amidst speculations after the leak, VGC reports that it was told, “You don’t start off debuffed and weak … You just start off great and can get ridiculous, like Arkham Knight’s Batman.”
