Microsoft is rumoured to announce the successor of its dual-screen smartphone — Surface Duo 2 at the Surface Special event scheduled on September 22. According to the rumours, the Surface Duo 2 is speculated to feature an improved design, triple rear camera setup and more.
Windows Central is now reporting that the dual-screen smartphone has passed the FCC certification and the document reveals that it will feature 5G support, NFC and wireless charging.
As per the document, the Surface Duo 2 will come with Wireless Power Transfer. Speculation also points towards induction-based charging for the Surface Pen.
The Surface Duo 2 will bring NFC and 5G support that was missing from the first generation of the smartphone. It is also speculated to come with UWB (ultra-wideband support.
The tech website has mentioned that the leaked FCC listing does not reveal any details about the rumoured triple rear camera setup that surfaced earlier this month in an image render of the smartphone. The Surface Duo 2 is also expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888SoC.
The second-generation Surface Duo will also feature some design changes such as the power button will now double up as the fingerprint scanner and the charging port is expected to move on the bottom right side of the smartphone.
