Swiggy has released the seventh edition of its annual trends report (formerly StatEATstics). This year the report also has order details from its – Quick Commerce Grocery — Swiggy Instamart. Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru ordered most during the year — over 5 crore orders and counting from these cities. A Swiggy user from Gurgaon ordered groceries 1,542 times on Instamart during the year, becoming the platform’s top customer of 2022. As to what topped his grocery list: instant noodles and full-cream milk. As for the top spender, a user from Bangalore spent Rs 16.6 Lakhs on buying groceries and essentials on Instamart, the most by a single user. With pandemic fears almost gone this Diwali, the orders for Rangoli powder and stencils grew by 600x and 1300x during Diwali 2022.

India loves its tea and coffee. Tea and coffee topped sales across categories on Swiggy during the year. Customers ordered tea and coffee variants on Instamart. As per the report, Swiggy Instamart witnessed a 305.55% growth in orders for tea and 273.67% for coffee. Among the fruits and fruits and vegetables, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, watermelons, bananas and tender coconut were the most ordered. Exotic fruits too found takes, with Dragon Fruit, Pomelo, Berries, Wood Apple recording sales of over 17 lakh kilogram. As for organic fruits and vegetables being sold on the platform, 50 lakh kilograms were sold.
In non-vegetarian food, chicken was the most ordered meat across India with over 29.86 lakh orders. In the meat delivery category, Bangalore ranked No.1 followed by Hyderabad and Chennai. Bangaloreans ordered more meat than Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Pune and Coimbatore combined.
