Google has been adding new features to the Play Store to make things easier for Android users. The company has now added a new Offers tab in the Google Play Store. The new Offers tab is designed to curate offers, deals and discounts on apps, games, in-game items, rewards and bundle offers.
Along with that, the tab will also include discounts on movies, books and apps that are available with free trials.
Google has mentioned that the rollout of the feature is underway and being rolled out in a phased manner. The company has confirmed that the feature will be available in regions including India, United States and Indonesia in coming weeks and will be made available to other regions later in 2022.
From the screenshots Google has shared, the Offers tab will be placed at the centre of the bottom ribbon where we usually find tabs for Apps, Games, Movies and Books.
Google has also confirmed that it will be updating the tab with new deals and offers on apps, games, movies, etc on a daily basis. This means, users will be able to access the Offers section easily with new deals to grab regularly.
The new Offers tab seems to be a good addition for the Play Store as most people currently have to manually search for the apps or games and then look for the deals in the listing page. There are paid apps available on the Store, but most commonly used ones are already free. The only legit use of this section we can think of is for gamers who are looking for in-game items or rewards to grab at a discounted price. That we can only know once the feature is live.
