TCL set to launch Mini LED TVs in India – Times of India

NEW ELHI: TCL is set make its entry into the Mini LED TV segment in India. According to sources, the TVs will adopt straight down backlight mode which will significantly reduce grain size compared to traditional LED. The company is expected to announce the launch date in mid-June.
The micro-LED display is an improved version of LCD technology. Most modern LCD TVs use LEDs, or Light Emitting Diodes for their backlights. Mini LED, which is sometimes referred to as a sub-millimeter light-emitting diode, is said to be a better version of the traditional LCD display.
Mini LEDs work similarly to LEDs used in LED TVs or QLED TVs but are much smaller. At about 200 microns or 0.008 inches across, mini-LEDs are about a fifth of the size of the standard LEDs in use in LCD panels.
Precisely controlled Mini LEDs in an active matrix backlight are said to offer better contrast, capable of displaying deeper blacks and brighter whites simultaneously, for greater depth and detail.
TCL recently partnered with Flipkart to introduce its new range of smart TVs in India. The company launched three new 4K Smart TVs across screen sizes and price bands.
Earlier this year, TCL also expanded its AC portfolio in India. Sporting a matt finish, the new device features UVC Sterilization for instant elimination of bacteria by damaging their protein and DNA. The machine also offers a filter system for releasing fresh. When combined, all these elements ensure higher safety to users with a bacteria eliminating rate of over 98.66%.
According to TCL, the device also ensures robust cooling and heating in high (up to 60 degree Celsius) and low ambient temperatures (below 20 degree Celsius), respectively. On top of that, it also comes with a self-cleaning and sterilization option, which acts as an additional security feature. In terms of design, the machine is very easy to install (with an easily detachable bottom plate), maintain (with quick replacement of PCB and convenient leakage check), and assemble (with an increased assembly efficiency of up to 12.5%).
