TL;DR
- Another source has now claimed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200MP camera.
- This comes after two sources made the claim earlier this year.
We got a first apparent look at the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra earlier this week thanks to leaked renders, but we’ve also seen plenty of leaks related to the phone’s specs. One claim that’s popped up a couple of times is that the Ultra model will have a 200MP camera, and another source has now made this assertion.
Dutch outlet Galaxy Club has now claimed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will indeed have a 200MP main camera, citing “information that has reached us.” It didn’t have any info on the specific sensor used, though.
The outlet’s claim comes after social media tipster Ice Universe and a Korean news website previously asserted that the phone would have a 200MP sensor. So it definitely seems like evidence is mounting for this camera upgrade.

Samsung wouldn’t be first to offer a 200MP smartphone though, as Motorola previously launched the X30 Pro in China and the Edge 30 Ultra in global markets. We took the Edge 30 Ultra for a spin and thought the 200MP camera was pretty disappointing even in broad daylight, let alone at night. So we’re definitely hoping that Samsung’s 200MP camera and accompanying software make for much better results.
Otherwise, the S23 Ultra is tipped to offer a similar camera system as the S22 Ultra. That means an ultrawide lens, a 3x telephoto camera, and a 10x periscope shooter. But we’ll just have to wait and see for more details.
