The 43 Best Early Black Friday Deals You Can Snag Now
The Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is one of the best Chromebooks on the market. The pretty display can be used as a tablet, thanks to its two-in-one design, and the battery life will keep the machine going for hours (no matter what configuration is being used). This beats other good deals we’ve tracked for this particular model.
This recent price drop beats every other deal we’ve tracked for the Jabra Elite 85T (9/10, WIRED Recommends). These rugged earbuds have physical control buttons, baked-in water resistance, active noise cancellation, and a two-year warranty. They’re especially good for workouts.
I (Louryn) own and love these headphones. I’ve had them for years. They’re not the latest or greatest, and they don’t have active noise canceling, but they do pair super fast with iOS devices, thanks to the W1 chip inside (Android users can still pair just fine too). I like the stylish look and the comfortable ear cups, plus the signature bass-heavy Beats equalization sounds especially great when listening to rap and metal.
This deal is a match of the best we’ve tracked for these headphones/sunglasses. The Bose Frames Tempo are excellent for workouts, especially for biking. You can read more about them in our guide to the Best Wireless Workout Headphones.
Best Buy, Amazon ($130 for 1 TB)
In our guide to the Best Portable Storage Drives, we highlight this as the best option when it comes to speed. The transfer times are blindingly fast. Typically, the biggest drawback is its price, but this deal matches a low we’ve seen just once before (during last year’s holiday shopping season). Smaller size options are also on sale.
Solid-state drives don’t have moving parts, making them extra expeditious compared to hard disk drives. An internal SSD like this one can be used to speed up your existing computer or future desktop. This price is $5 higher than the lowest WIRED has tracked.
This ain’t your average hard drive. It’s an absolute powerhouse, a beefy behemoth meant to be used for big backups. We recommend it in our guide to the Best External Hard Drives. It’s not speedy, but that’s not what this is meant for. You don’t need to go all out and get this in the largest capacity; other, smaller sizes are also on sale. Check our guide on How to Back Up Your Digital Life for more guidance.
The newer, snazzier version of this, the Flex 5i, is featured in our guide to the Best Chromebooks. While we like the 5i more, the Flex 5 is still a good little machine, especially at this price. The 2-in-1 design gives you the option to use the laptop as a tablet, and the processing power is just fine for anyone doing schoolwork or typical browsing.
We generally like the Surface Laptop Go. The design is sleek and modern, the machine is lightweight and portable, and the battery life is decent. Our biggest concern is with the low-resolution display. For frequent travelers or remote workers that hop from place to place, it’s still a solid choice. Check our Microsoft Surface Buying Guide for additional advice.
The OnePlus 8T goes on sale basically every shopping holiday. This price compares to what we’ve seen during other seasonal events. The phone has a gorgeous display, decent cameras, and an appealing aquamarine option. We think it’s usually overpriced, but this sale makes it more palatable.
TV, Smart Home, and Home Office Deals
The Razer Kiyo Pro is one of our favorite webcams, but its MSRP is too high. This is a much more reasonable price for this 1080p camera, and it’s even better than what saw earlier in the week. It has a much bigger sensor than its more affordable sibling, allowing it to deliver great picture quality, though you’ll need to fine-tune some of the settings in Razer’s Synapse app.
Amazon, Best Buy, Target ($50)
The ambidextrous design of the Viper allows for easy clicking, scrolling, and kiting, no matter whether you’re a rightie or leftie. Its more expensive sibling made our list of the Best Gaming Mice. The built-in RGB lighting and physical switches allow for more customization, and the small footprint won’t get in the way of doing what you do best: throwing the entire game. (Is that just me?)
A few members of the WIRED Gear team use and love this mouse. It’s basic, but the two side buttons allow for some customization, and the battery life it gets with a single, required AA battery is incredible. The design should be comfortable enough for everyone, too. The price matches the lowest we have tracked. The G305 is featured in our Work from Home Gear Guide, along with several other great recommendations.
This little smart display can show you the weather and time at a glance, and it also has Google Assistant built-in (though the functionality is a bit compromised by the tiny 4-inch screen). We like the built-in USB-A port, which can be used to charge your other smart gadgets without quite so many cords cluttering up the bedside. This deal has popped up a few times, but it’s still a good way to upgrade your nightstand without spending a ton of cash.
Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond
This is the Best Google Smart Display for folks that don’t want unnecessary cameras in their homes. The screen size works basically anywhere, from a kitchen counter to a nightstand to a table in the front entryway, and speakers and microphones are both solid. Getting it for 50 percent off is a steal. Here’s our in-depth review.
Facebook, as a company, is always going through some scandal or another. Its Portal Go (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is an awesome and convenient dedicated video-calling device, capable of chats with long-distance relatives as well as colleagues via Zoom. As always, you should avoid buying gear if you don’t feel good about it. We have yet to find a better price for the Portal Go.
