The big Google Pixel 7a leak

The Pixel 6a pulled some of the best features of the Pixel 6 into a more compact and affordable package. We loved (review) many things about it, including the Tensor chip’s powerful processing capabilities, the great cameras and image processing skills, and of course, the software and Google’s long-term update commitment. All this is why we’re pumped about the Pixel 7a. I’ve been using the Pixel 7 since it launched and am especially interested to see which of its features make it to the cheaper Google phone this year.

• Thanks to a new leak, we now have an idea about what the Pixel 7a may end up looking like.
• The images come from prolific leaker OnLeaks, so we can pretty much take them at face value.
• Our first impressions are that the Pixel 7a clearly fits in with other Pixel 7 series phones.
• The camera bar looks to have a matte metal finish like the Pixel 7, instead of the Pixel 7 Pro‘s polished aluminum design.
• There are two shooters at the back, which may once again be a primary + ultrawide combination like the Pixel 6a.
• The front of the phone shows a punch-hole camera in the center and thin bezels around the screen.

Pixel 7a leaked specs

• According to the latest information, the Pixel 7a supposedly measures 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0mm with a 10.1mm camera bump.
• Some other specs also leaked a few weeks ago, suggesting it would have high-end features never before seen on the A-series.
• It’s believed Google could add a 90Hz 1080p display to the Pixel 7a, up from the 60Hz screen on the Pixel 6a.
• The camera setup could also get a substantial makeover with Sony’s huge 64MP IMX787 primary shooter coupled with a 13MP IMX712 ultrawide sensor.
• All-in-all, the new mid-range Pixel is shaping up to be quite a powerful phone. I wonder if it’ll end up encroaching into the Pixel 7’s territory with all the rumored upgrades.

Not weird in the traditional sense, but something weird is definitely going on at Elon Musk’s Boring Company. Remember when Musk promised to revolutionize the tunnel-boring space? Well, it seems he’s building tunnels to nowhere.

• According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk’s tunnel-building venture is ghosting officials after making big promises.
• Officials were planning for a street-level rail connection between the booming Ontario International Airport and a commuter train station four miles away. The project would have cost a whopping $1 billion.
• Musk’s Boring Company promised a $45 million tunnel instead, with zipping autonomous vehicles.
• When it came time to formalize the partnership and get to work, Boring itself went underground.
• The company has also teased cities like Maryland, Chicago, and Los Angeles, only to pull out when confronted with the realities of building public infrastructure.
• Boring’s only tunnel to open in six years of its existence is a 1.6-mile “loop experience” under the Las Vegas Convention Center.
• Looks like Twitter isn’t the only venture Mr. Musk is running to the ground.
