The Game Awards 2022: Supergiant confirms Hades 2, early access starts in 2023 – Times of India

Developer Supergiant Games has announced its next game at The Game Awards 2022 event which was recently held in Los Angeles, US. The game maker has revealed that it is currently working on the sequel of its popular action RPG Hades which was released in 2020. The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has revealed the trailer of the upcoming Hades 2 title and said that the game will launch in early access next year.

Supergiant Games’ official YouTube channel has also confirmed that the upcoming game will be available for early access, just like its prequel. Hades 2 early access details will be shared in 2023. The game will launch for players on PC and users can currently add the game to their wishlists on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Supergiant is also expected to launch the game on console platforms.

Hades 2 is expected to focus on witches and magic. The game’s Steam page listing describes it as being “rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth.” users have to play the game as a character named Melinoe who is also the Underworld Princess. The protagonist in the original Hades game was Zagreus. Supergiant has mentioned that Melinoe is the sister of Zagreus.

As per the trailer, Hades 2 will include similar action-focused gameplay, flashy animations, voiced conversations and music as the original game. The upcoming title will also include multiple characters.
The original Hades game not only won the BAFTA award but also made it through multiple games of the year lists. According to a report by Eurogamer, Supergiant has described that in Hades 2, players have to battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery as they take on the sinister Titan of Time in an “action-packed, endlessly replayable experience.”
